Life is about Thriving – not just Surviving
Greetings! My name is Katherine Mossop and I am a Toronto based Holistic Nutritionist with a passion for all things nutrient-dense and delicious. I graduated with first class honours from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition where I earned my designation as a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP). When I’m not engrossed in the latest nutrition books and research, I like to indulge in my favourite pastime, photography.
My journey into the field of nutrition arose after many years of ill health. My mid twenties were some of the worst times in my life as I suffered with chronic infections, fatigue, persistent migraines, mood swings, brain fog, and depression (to name a few). On most occasions, I left my doctor’s office with a prescription in hand to deal with the unpleasant symptom of the week. After years of frustration and my health on the decline, I started asking ‘why’ I was feeling so awful all the time. The prescription drugs were addressing the symptom, but now I wanted to know the root cause. Taking matters into my own hands, I started researching my varying symptoms and started to connect the dots with my diet.
I soon discovered the powerful healing abilities of whole foods and used a Paleo diet to heal my many issues. Changing my dietary habits and identifying and eliminating particular foods helped me find a new zest for life. Realizing many people around me experienced similar complaints, I was determined to bury myself in books and learn as much as I could so I could help others to find their own passion for real whole foods.

- Did you poop today? Was it a good poop, an urgent one or was it a bit of a struggle?
If you started your day bright eyed and bushy tailed; had two to three easy-peasy poops throughout and day and didn’t need to bring your tablet into the bathroom with you to kill some time, that’s fantastic!
If, on the other hand, you hit the snooze button a few times before wrestling yourself out of bed (we’ve all been there); played a few games or had time to check all your emails while struggling with your morning constitution, then I am here to help!
Most of us go through life thinking that these disturbances and discomforts are ‘normal’. These don’t have to be your normal. It can be easy to adapt to these issues by reaching for the nearest over the counter remedy, but this really just compounds the issues. Our bodies continually send us messages to let us know that something isn’t right. That message may be a skin irritation like hives, acne, eczema or psoriasis; digestive discomforts like bloating, constipation, diarrhea or persistent headaches or migraines. Unfortunately, more often than not, we ignore these messages.
As a nutritionist, I will work with you to get to the bottom of your ‘normal’ discomforts. Addressing the root cause is the key to healing what ails you. You deserve to feel AMAZING and I want to help you get there!
